Picking FAQ's

When is Berry and Veggie Season?

We have blueberries from around mid-May through mid-June, depending on the season. Blackberries ripen usually the end of May and have about a 3 week season. We plant various vegetables to be ripe while the berries are in season. Unfortunately, we do not plant year around or sell at the farmer's markets. We are a small family operation and only offer pick-your-own produce. Also the honey is only available during berry season.

What Do We Charge?

There is NO admission / picking fee. We charge for produce that you pick, by the pound. See our price list on this website. In addition, you are welcome to play with the animals. Also, we have started picking by reservation on Saturdays and Tuesdays during berry season. We take several forms of payment - cash, credit cards or checks.

We Do NOT Spray

We do not use chemical sprays. Blueberries do not require us to spray. The other produce is also not sprayed, so we do not know until harvest what made it. Please subscribe to our newsletter to know what we have and when.

Arrival / What to Wear

We open at 8:00 AM on Saturdays and Tuesdays, and do not allow early picking. That said, if you want blackberries, it is best to arrive just before 8:00 to get a bucket. Blueberries are plentiful so arrive anytime from 8:00 to 10:00 for the best selection. It is best to wear comfy clothes, sneakers and a hat, along with sunscreen. There is not shade in the fields. Also, good to wear some insect repellent. We don't have many but there are ants and sometimes deer flies.

Horses and Other Animals

There are horses, a baby mule, chickens and even a goat on our farm for you to experience. We encourage you (and kids of all ages) to interact with the animals by providing treats for the horses and goats for you to feed them. Just be careful, keep your hand flat and have fun! Also, if you want bring your dog, please have him / her on a leash. We have a couple of very friendly dogs that hang out with us, one is off leash and is our farm dog, Andy.

Picnics

We have a number of tables and chairs on the farm to allow for picnics in the shade of our beautiful oak trees. So bring your lunch (or even breakfast!) and enjoy after a morning of picking berries and veggies. Water and soft drinks are available along with free frozen flavor ice for the kids.

Berry Season is Over

Berry season was short this year - not sure why, but the bushes did not produce like they did in the past. We are now closed for the year. Thank you so much for stopping by!
